Reverend Dr. Duane Hardy, M. TS, M.Div., D. Min

 

Reverend Duane Everett Hardy was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on February 16, 1971, to the late James T. Little, Jr. and Ms. Sandra O. Hardy. He is the twin brother of Elder James T. Hardy of New Orleans, Louisiana. They are six generational preachers and come from a line of pastors and ministers. During his youth, Reverend Hardy received spiritual guidance from the following: his mentor in ministry, Apostle Alan J. White Sr., Melvin Kilgore, Bishop Bertha Greene, and the late Bishop Samuel Floyd and Eloise Floyd. Reverend Hardy graduated from Northeast High School in June 1988 with honors in academics and sports.

He has won several All-Public Awards in track & field and has a deep love of baseball and football. Reverend Hardy and his brother James led their teams to the state playoffs during their high school tenure on more than one occasion. After graduating from high school, Reverend Hardy and his brother joined the United States Navy. On June 12, 1992, while stationed on the USS Tortuga deployed in the Mediterranean Sea, he rededicated his life to Christ.

After being honorably discharged from the Navy, in August 1992, Reverend Hardy joined the Victory Temple Church of Deliverance under the leadership of Apostle Alan J. White, Sr. On February 3, 1994, he was called to preach the Gospel and was later ordained on June 11, 1994. On January 18, 1999, Reverend Hardy started the Victory Temple Church in Kenner, Louisiana and was later installed as Pastor on June 16, 1999.

In September 2000, Reverend Hardy was led by the Spirit of God to start the New Covenant Evangelistic Church. From the period of September 2000 to August 2009, he served faithfully as the pastor and founder. After the events of Hurricane Katrina, Dr. Hardy relocated to Central Virginia. Reverend Hardy severed as an associate minister at Rising Mt. Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Roscoe D. Cooper, III.

In February 2011, Dr. Hardy was chosen to be the seventeenth (17th) pastor of the Seven Pines Baptist Church. Reverend Hardy is a former two-term president of the Henrico Minister’s Conference.  Dr.  Hardy is also a Chaplain in the United States Navy holding the rank of Lieutenant.  He is presently stationed out of Navy Reserve Center, Richmond, Virginia.  He is also cross-assigned to Mid-Atlantic Operational Center, Norfolk, VA as Command Chaplain.

He is the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Henrico County Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Committee, an Advisor to the Henrico County Branch of the NAACP. He is also a proud Little League Baseball Coach in the Glen Lea Baseball Association.  Reverend Hardy has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biblical Studies and a Master of Theology Studies from the Louisiana Baptist University.  Reverend Hardy is also a graduate of the Virginia Union University Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology with a Master of Divinity Degree.

Additionally, has an earned Doctorate of Ministry Degree from the historical Virginia University of Lynchburg. Dr. Hardy is 2016 Ralph Reavis Fellow. Reverend Hardy successfully defended his doctoral dissertation. The project is called: “Restructuring the Leadership Core of a Suburban Church Into a 21st Century Model of Ministry Partners”.  Dr. Hardy is the author of six books. They are:  We Live Because of Miracles, The Journey In Between, Restructuring the Leadership Core of a Suburban Church, Those Were The Days, Heart 2 Heart, and Prayers That Breakthrough.
